Baker Hughes Announces Planned Retirement of James R. Clark

Baker Hughes announced today that James R. “Rod” Clark, President and Chief Operating Officer, has announced his intent to retire from Baker Hughes on January 31, 2008, at which time Chad C. Deaton, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, will then also assume the position of President.

Baker Hughes Names Stephen K. Ellison as President of Baker Atlas

Baker Hughes Incorporated announced that Stephen K. “Steve” Ellison has been appointed President of Baker Atlas and Vice President of Baker Hughes Incorporated and is expected to assume his duties by May 1, 2007, succeeding Paul Butero who was recently appointed President, INTEQ. Mr. Ellison reports to Martin Craighead, Group President, Drilling and Evaluation.

Baker Hughes Announces Third Quarter Results

Baker Hughes announced that income from continuing operations for the third quarter 2006 was $358.6 million or $1.09 per diluted share compared to $220.6 million or $0.64 per diluted share for the third quarter 2005 and $1,395.0 million or $4.14 per diluted share for the second quarter 2006.

Baker Hughes announced that in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), income from continuing operations for the second quarter 2006 was $1,395.0 million or $4.14 per diluted share compared to $218.0 million or $0.64 per diluted share for the second quarter 2005 and $318.8 million or $0.93 per diluted share for the first quarter 2006.
